can't delete mailboxserver
I would admit I am a novice. Exchange was installed on a machine and after install I changed the computer name. This caused problems so I reverted back to a previous version of the server (using virtual machine) and reinstalled Exchange. It all appears to work okay but now under Server Configuration Mailboxes I can see two servers. How can I get rid of one of them? Thanks for any help anyone can be, Dave

Install Windows Support Tools Backup your AD before your perform below. Microsoft donot recommend below method even to delete server object. Since you are sure that the server in question donot hold anything you can go ahead and get rid of it. Start ->Run ->Adsiedit.msc Navigate to Configuration Container -> Expand Services ->Expand Microsoft Exchange ->Expand Your Exchange Org Name ->Expand Exchange Administrative Group ->Expand Servers Select the unwanted and right click and delete them Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|

Hi Dave, As Vinod explained, we do not recommend removing the server object by using Adsiedit.msc tool. Microsoft recommends that we reinstall Exchange by using /RecoverServer and remove it from Add/Remove Programs.
