Looks like a dependency for the ECP virtual directory is missing. What CU of Exchange 2013 are you running? If less than CU5, you can try to upgrade to CU5 as every cumulative update is a full uninstall and reinstall of the newer version of Exchange. If that isn't an option, can you post the actual text of the error here instead of a screenshot so that we can read it?

Hi,

Please go to IIS Manager (Switch to Content View) to check the files there:

Expand Sites > Exchange Back End > 15.0.620.29 (my Exchange server is Exchange 2013 CU1). Please check whether there are any file folders under themes and Scripts folder. If there is no folder there, please copy the whole folders "Scripts" and "Themes" or the entire folder of 15.0.620.29 (cu1) folder from Exchange Installation Path /ClientAccess/ ECP/ CU1 folder in a working machine(the same Exchange version) to the update folder on same location.

Please switch to IIS manager Feature View, go to Exchange Back End > ECP home, open Application Settings in /ecp Home, please check whether the value for BinSearchFolders is changed to an invalid value. If so, please change it to:

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\bin\CmdletExtensionAgents;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Exchange Server\V15\ClientAccess\Owa\bin.

Then run IISReset /noforce from a prompted command window to restart IIS services.

If all above doesnt work, please collect some error logs for further analysis.

Dear Winnie Liang & brenle

thank you for your answer ..... but I'm afraid that non of the above answer do any good

I do tray all the above and each one lead me to a different error.

at last I hade to recover the server to an earlier date. (more than one try)

but at the end it's solving the problem...

now the outlook is connected & web app is working fine & admin console is fine

but not sending or receiving mail from outlook or web app

PS. I recover the server to a date 8/2/2014. & this recover made yesterday 8/12/2014

as I say before the domain is on another machine

any idea .....

thank you all .....

Hi,

According to your posting, the original issue has been resolved. As for your new issue which users can't send and receive messages from both Outlook and OWA, please check whether the issue happens to all users and all messages (Internal messages and external messages). Please make sure all Exchange services are started and running. If users can't send messages to others, please collect the NDR messages for further analysis. Please also collect some event logs.

Additionally, I suggest we can open a new thread so that we can get more professional and appropriate suggestions. Thanks for your cooperation.
