add send-as permission to a distribution group in Exchange 2010
Hi I have created a new distribution group and I want to give send-as permission to few users here the commands I tried in Exchange Management Shell (EMS) [PS] C:\Windows\system32>Add-ADPermission "Departement service apres-vente Master" -User master\mrX -AccessRights ExtendedRight -ExtendedRights "send as" here is the error message Active Directory operation failed on VMDCLEBEAU.master.ca. This error is not retriable. Additional information: Access is denied. Active directory response: 00000005: SecErr: DSID-031521D0, problem 4003 (INSUFF_ACCESS_RIGHTS), data 0 + CategoryInfo : WriteError: (0:Int32) [Add-ADPermission], ADOperationException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : 5C64BA16,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.RecipientTasks.AddADPermission I checked the ad permission and inheritable permissions are checked. I tried with another distribution groups using the same command and it's worked. I've compared both groups permissions with winmerge and they are the same except for the send as one thanks for your answer

Hi, I use your command to test in my lab, didn’t get any error as your described. I suggest you to check whether you can add send as permission(on the problem group) in ADUC. Please also check the event log and paste the related information in your next post. Here is a thread with the similar error, hope can give you some help: INSUFF_ACCESS_RIGHTS http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrgeneral/thread/0960b944-82b2-42f1-b438-a7d57b7ab783 Thanks, Evan Liu TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
