a contact not shown in the GAL
Hi all, we replicated other forest's mail enabled objects as mail enalbed contacts in our AD. We saw the contact in our AD but it does not show in GAL. So, how long will it take a contact shown in the GAL? (not cache mode and exchanege 2007 and windows 2003 forest level) Thank you.

The GAL should be immediate, the OAB may take up to 24 hours. Are you sure the object isn't hidden from the GAL? Jorge R. Diaz, PMP, CCNA, MCSA, MCSE Senior Microsoft Consultant Planet Technologies, Inc. Check out My Blog!

Do you see the mail enabled contact in Exchange Management Console? If not, the targetaddress may be missing when you replicated the contacts.James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

Hi, Please make true the contact has an external email address(mail enable). Check the properties of the contact in Active Directory Users and Computers, and see whether it has a e-mail address in the General tab. If it doesn't have an external e-mail address, it will not be shown in EMC and GAL.
