Hi There, I am getting the exact error message. I have created a new user in my domain. There is no difference in the way this account has been setup, versus any other account. I can send mail directly to this user, and everything is fine. We have an on-line form on our Intranet that when submitted needs to send mail to this user. When attempting to send mailthrough the form, is when I get this bounce message. I canmake other accounts the recipient of the form, and it will go through fine. Any suggestions?? Thanks!!

Numeric Code: 4.4.7Possible Cause: The message in the queue has expired. The sending server tried to relay or deliver the message, but the action was not completed before the message expiration time occurred. This NDR may also indicate that a message header limit has been reached on a remote server or that some other protocol timeout occurred during communication with the remote server. Troubleshooting: This code typically indicates an issue on the receiving server. Verify the validity of the recipient address, and verify that the receiving server is configured to receive messages correctly. You may have to reduce the number of recipients in the header of the message for the host that you are receiving this NDR from. If you resend the message, it is placed in the queue again. If the receiving server is on line, the message is delivered.

Thanks for your help, but I don't believe this matches with the issue that I am seeing. The recipient's address is correct, and that email account is receiving email successfully when I sent to it directly. When I add this address on the back end of an online form,it generatesthe NDR. The NDR gets sent to the recipients address, so it's receiving mail just fine. Thanks again for any help with this issue.

Is your Intranet site relaying email off your Exchange server? You're only receiving NDRs when sending from the form correct?
September 18th, 2007 4:23pm

That is correct. Please excuse my ignorance here, but how can I verify the answer to your question? I am new to Exchange and I believe it has something to do with the way the Intranet form is set up. The person who used to manage our Intranet is no longer with us and has been handed off to someone outside if IT. I have not seen this problem in the past, and it has only started occurring when this new person took over. Thanks again for all your help.

I'm not sure where you would check this on the Intranet site. But you can check your Exchange server to see if it allows other servers to relay email thru it. Here's how you check the Exchange server: http://www.computerperformance.co.uk/exchange2003/exchange2003_virtual_servers.htm Once you have the SMTP Virtual Server properties open go to the "Access" tab Click on the "Relay" button Hopefully the radio button "Only the list below" is selected Check to see if your IIS server (the one hosting the Intranet site) is listed The other option might be that your Intranet site is relaying email off your ISP (this is common in smaller companies). If this is true then it would explain why your emails are undeliverable from the Intranet form but deliverable from Outlook.

This is just really strange, and has me completely puzzled. I check all that you outlined above, and it's all there. I have only found 2 accounts that it will not send to. I can place other email addresses on the back end of this form and it sends just fine. I have checked all the AD properties and can not find anything in there either. I'm stumped.
