Your automatic reply settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable - Possible Exchange issue?
My users are running Outlook 2013, the exchange server has Exchange 2007. They are unable to use Out of Office in Outlook. If they use OWA it works fine but if they use Outlook they get a message "your automatic reply settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable. try again later."

Please Help!

Hi,

Generally, if the issue doesn't happen in OWA but only in Outlook for all users, the issue may be related to autodiscover service. We can set the autodiscover by running:
Set-ClientAccessServer -Identity CAS2013 -AutodiscoverServiceInternalUri https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml

On client side, please run Test E-mail AutoConfiguration Tool, and collect the Logs tab and Results tab information:
Open Outlook - press CTRL key - right click on the Outlook icon from right bottom corner taskbar - Test Email AutoConfiguration. Put your email address - uncheck use guessmart and secure guessmart .

Have you verified that Autodiscover is working from the affected machine? You can use the Test E-mail AutoConfiguration utility for this:

  • Hold down CTRL while right-clicking the Outlook icon in the system tray
  • Choose Test E-Mail AutoConfiguration...
  • Enter the email address for an affected user
