Wrong product key entered - enterprise instead of standard...
HiI have incorrectly licened a standard server with an enterprise license key in my organisation - when I rerun the product key task or powershell command it says "server already licensed".I don't have enough time to reinstall the server - is there any way to change the key for the correct one? Registry or ADSI?Thanks--Toshi

Hi Toshi,Upgrade or equivalent version of product keyupdateis possible but downgrade path is not possible for entering product keys in Exchange 2007 and unfortunately, the only way is to reinstall the Exchange.I think there isn't any way to do so by changing Registry or ADSIedit because I am sure Microsoft doesn't store the product key in plain text format, it should be encrypted and stored somewhere;)"You cannot use product keys to downgrade from Enterprise Edition to Standard Edition, nor can you use them to revert to the Trial Edition. These types of downgrades can only be done by uninstalling Exchange2007, reinstalling Exchange2007, and entering the correct product key." -http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232170.aspxAmit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
