Word Crashing

I work in a school, and after a server failure have moved staff home directories to a new server.

When opening clicking on a shortcut to Word 2013, it hangs for some staff and then opens 20s later. Also when opening a new document it can hang. This only started to happen after we moved file servers, so I am pretty sure this is related to the problem.

Can anyone help!?

Hi,

I am doing some research. And I would involve someone who is more familiar with this kind of issue to deal with this problem. Thanks for your patience.

Before we go any further, I would like to know if the Word 2013 still crash open an exist local document. Since the Word 2013 even crash when open a new document, I don't think the issue is casused by File server migration. What do you think?

At this point, please try to open Word 2013 in safe mode without any Antivirus programs/Firewall running. (Turn off security programs and run "Winword.exe /safe")

I may also try to rename the current Normal.dotm file under the path: %userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates
