I have edited one Word document without saving it, the word application popups the Saving Dialog when I close it.But I do not confirm it,and then I open another Word document.But the new document open failed.I do not why and How to solve this issue.

In regarding of the issue, please provide us more information to assist you better.

• Which option did you click before closed the first file?  "Don't save" or "Cancel" option.
• Was there any error message when you opened the second file?

According to your description, I suppose that Word does not shut down correctly. Please go to Task manager>Process>

Check if WinWord.exe still exists. If it exists, please try to end this task.

If we keep the alert message Dialog of Office, we can't open a new instance of Office program. And we'll get the following message:

Please cancel the dialog first, and then open another file.
