Word 2013 spell checker not working unless Windows language is set to English

Hi guys

I have an unusual problem with one of my clients, she

has a Windows 7 PRO installed with English language set as default and Croatian

keyboard added. When I open Word 2013 I am unable to spell check the document

in English unless the keyboard in Windows is set to English??? I have checked

Word options and it states that Word is using English as default and that the

spell checker is installed. I have tried setting proofing language, removed all
the languages from Word except English, tied setting up Region and language option
s in Windows nothing seem to work. Since she wants Croatian keyboard all the
time and

to be able to spell check text in English I have run out of the options what to

change? On my pc it Works fine I have the Croatian keyboard installed and set

as default and my Word is working nicely, can anyone tell me what the problem

is or point me to the right direction ?

Thank you

Hi

To set English as the default proofing tool, go to File>Option>Language select English as default.

Then go to Review>language>Set proofing language select English as default.

Restart your Word to check.

It works for me when I set a proofing language different from my system language.

For more information, refer to the link below:

If the issue persists, repair(Control panel>Program and features>Office>Change>Repair) your Office suites and completely the steps above.
