Word 2013 Crashing - dbghelp.dll

We have a user who has frequent word crashed on her computer. Whenever her word crashed the event viewer logs an application error for Winword.exe with a faulting module name of <gs class="GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark" ginger_software_uiphraseguid="c533259a-7b80-44bf-98c6-9623f1840f56" id="92e1e4ea-1927-49df-b44c-10ce4058280e">dbghelp</gs><gs class="GINGER_SOFTWARE_mark" ginger_software_uiphraseguid="c533259a-7b80-44bf-98c6-9623f1840f56" id="23397205-dce9-4ae8-8df1-56cc12c5b11b">.</gs>dll_unloaded.  So far we have tried the following:

  • System Restore
  • Malware Scan
  • Reinstall Windows
  • Reinstall Office
  • Replace monitor, keyboard and mouse

Please advise if you have run into this issue before and have any suggestions. We are trying to avoid having to wipe her hard drive.

Ginger Software, which is what your event viewer logs implicate, is not a Microsoft product. I'd suggest repairing or uninstalling that product. For more details and help with your Ginger Software product, see: http://www.gingersoftware.com/
