Word 2013 - Print Current Page always prints page one

Hi,

The "Print Current Page" option in Word 2013 only prints page 1.

This happens with both old and new documents as well as documents created with 32bit vs 64bit Office 2013.  There doesn't seem to be any pattern.  I have this problem on at least four different machines and at least one of them was rebuilt from scratch.

I've repaired Office on all the machines with no change.

I've taken old documents created in earlier versions of Word and pasted "text only" to a new document and saved it in the new format - no change.

I find plenty of suggetions for Word 2010 and 2007 but nothing for 2013.

I've tried deleting the Normal.dotm file as suggested in one of the 2010 posts but that didn't help either.

I can enter the page number and print the appropriate page but my users don't want to do that.

We've also found that an envelope at the begining of the document throws the page numbering off.

If I have an envelop in a document and I want to print the first page of the letter and not the envelope.

I have to tell Word to print page #1 instead of page #2 like the print preview shows.

Thanks  Art S.

I have the same issue with Office Professional Plus 2013 (32 bit) on Windows 8 64 bit.

It occurs both when printing on a Dymo label printer as well as on the HP UPD driver to a HP laser printer.

When you select "Print Current Page", the correct page to be printed is displayed on the right of the dialog, but the first page is printed.

The only work around I found is to look at the page number, then type that number under Pages in the print dialog. You then get the correct page printed.

This issue was happening recently on one of our associates machine.  After trying various things to fix the issue, I happened to started having issues with OneDrive and called Microsoft support who pointed something out to me in Office.  I can't confirm this will actually work for anyone else, but after doing this on the associate's computer she was able to print current page.

Notes: This user was running windows 7 and had Office 2013 installed from the Office 365 ProPlus

Fix:

Open Word>blank document

file>account

confirm the "user information" is correct (in our case it was using .local instead of .com for the account address)

(even if correct) select "switch account" and enter the account information to let it sync back up

After doing this, I wrote 1,2,& 3 on three different pages... went to page 2... file>print print current page... and it printed page 2.

Opened an existing document they were having issue with, tested... worked

I have recently run into this as well. If we print using page number then correct, but if just select print current page, screenshot on right is correct, but the print out is the first page.

I have tried updating print drivers, multiple printers, multiple pc's, the text only doc template didn't succeed as well. Then tried to re-sync my office as described at the bottom of this by Jennifer. And some other items as well. The only work around I have seen work (found by another co-worker) was to change the markup to not be inline.

Review Tab -> Show Markup -> Balloons -> Show Only Comments and Formatting in Balloons

Then the print current page works correctly. However we need a solution for printing the current page while "Show all revisions inline" is the selected choice.

Just thought would share in case this work around will work for others. And maybe trigger someone else to see what may be the true underlying cause here.

Experiencing the same issue. Printer is a Muratec MFX2570.

Print current page always printed page one, printing a selection of pages prints nothing at all.

I changed Review Tab -> Show Markup -> Balloons -> Show Only Comments and Formatting in Balloons to "Show all Revisions inline" and print current page started working for me.

I'm still unable to print a selection of pages. Printer driver is up to date, other applications print selections / current page without issue.

This fix worked on my machine (Office 2013 Professional 32Bit), it did not however fix my managers machine.  Office 2013 Home & Sm Biz, 32bit on a 64bit windows 7 laptop.  Same issue as described by others.  This seems like such a basic issue.  Odd it's not getting any attention by Microsoft.

I have a client who experiencing the same issue. Changing  Review Tab -> Show Markup -> Balloons to "Show Only Comments and Formatting" worked for me as well. I also tried leaving it on "Show all Revisions inline" and unchecked "Formatting" and "Comments" options under "Show Markup" drop down. This also worked, but I am still unable to find a permanent solution for this issue. Anybody else had any luck?

I have been having the same issues.  I tried Jennifer Hysaw's solution, but I typed different words on each page so that I could be sure it was printing the page I wanted, and that didn't work.  I then tried the solutions of notbaker and rachelw and that worked.  I was able to print the current page and also a range of pages.  So strange.

The notbaker/rachelw "solution" worked for me and for my co-workers as well.  This is not an acceptable solution.  Microsoft needs to correct this now, since it is obvious that it is a programmatic bug (connected in some way to settings in "Show Markup" under the "Review" tab) and nothing to do with drivers or printers.  They need to stop having robotic IT people respond to complicated questions with dumbed down answers which send users jumping through hoops for no legitimate reason whatsoever (checking printers, reinstalling software, updating drivers - I can just imagine all of the users time that Microsoft has wasted) and get some people who actually understand software and programming to look at these things too.  Get it together Microsoft!!!

This workaround also seemed to fix my system (ProPlus 32-bit), but a permanent solution would sure be nice.

I am still waiting as well. I have Windows365, Word 2013 on an 8.1 OS. The 'print current page' used to work in Word, now it only prints page 1. The specified page only used to print from Access, now nothing prints. It does not matter which printer or whether driver is updated. This is certainly not acceptable, especially since it has been happening for well over a year and a half now.

I have a user with the same problem, although she does not have Office 365. I think this is strictly a Word issue.

Recreating profile resolves this issue.

On another note, I just did a Full online repair from the program>change... menu and this resolved the issue for the user.  It also preserved Quick Word data if this is applicable to your user.

Dear Group

We've run into this problem too with our product Tray Selector. We use a Document.Printout method and we specify the wdPrintCurrentPage parameter. This seems to fail on Word2013/Office365 as posted above.

To get around this we use the following code (actually ours is in C# but the vba equiv is below) which also takes into account multi-section document and sections that start with page numbers not equal to 1.

Sub PrintCurrentPage()

Dim page As String
Dim pageInSec As Integer

page = ActiveDocument.Bookmarks("\page").Range.Information(wdActiveEndPageNumber)
pageInSec = ActiveDocument.Bookmarks("\page").Range.Information(wdActiveEndAdjustedPageNumber)

MsgBox "page is " & page

Dim endOfSec As Integer
Dim oSec As Section
Dim firstPageInSec As Integer
For Each oSec In ActiveDocument.Sections
    endOfSec = oSec.Range.Information(wdActiveEndPageNumber)
    If (endOfSec >= page) Then GoTo Out
Next
Out:
    Dim s As String
    If (oSec.Index = 1) Then
        s = pageInSec
    Else
        s = ("p" & pageInSec & "s" & oSec.Index)
    End If
    MsgBox s
    Application.PrintOut FileName:="", Range:=wdPrintRangeOfPages, Item:= _
        wdPrintDocumentWithMarkup, Copies:=1, Pages:=s, PageType:= _
        wdPrintAllPages, Collate:=True, Background:=True, PrintToFile:=False, _
        PrintZoomColumn:=0, PrintZoomRow:=0, PrintZoomPaperWidth:=0, _
        PrintZoomPaperHeight:=0

End Sub

I hope that helps. Also just look at our product if you want a quick solution at www.trayselector.com
