Word 2010 takes a minute or more to save to network

Greetings,

On my network it takes about a minute for a Word document to save. Everyone is running MS Office 2010 or 2013 on Windows 7 and they save their Word documents to the server which is MS Essentials 2012.

I have tested other file types and MS Office is the only one that takes a great amount of time to save or create a document to a networked mapped drive. I have tried to recreate the mapped drive. I have tried it by IP and by name. It still takes the same amount of time. I have tried disabling AV and the firewall and the results are the same. I have looked through the internet and technet forums and have yet to find a suitable answer outside hacking the registry (which is ridiculous - btw is to disable SMB 2.0 to 1.0, but requires hacking the registry).

Why does it take a minute or more for a Word document to save on the network with updated hardware, OS, and windows updates?

Hi

This behavior may occur if Symantec "Norton AntiVirus   Corporate Edition version 7.x" is installed on your computer. The File System   Realtime Protection feature of this program can cause the performance slow   down when you save files.

Refer to the following article to solve the issue:

In addition some of our customers solve the issue by installing a hotfix, for detailed information refer to the link below;

We aren't using Norton. We are using ClamAV.

I have tried this hotfix before and doesn't it works on any of our computers, including my home one.
