Windows XP fails to install, hangs at Rocketraid 174X hardware installation
I recently installed a new motherboard (ASUS P5KC, Socket 775), processor (Intel Core 2 Duo), ram (Corsair 2GB), hard drives (2-Seagate 500gb SATA), and Highpoint Rocketraid 1740RAID controller. I set-up a raid-1 array using two Seagate 500gb SATA drives. I began a fresh install of Windows XP Pro. After loading the third party drivers and proceeding through the Windows installation process, I noticed that Windows produces a pop-up window during the installation process which states that "The software you are installing for this hardware Rocketraid 174X SATA controller has not passed the Windows logo testing to verify it's compatability with Windows XP...". When I attempt to continue with the installation by selecting "Yes" to proceed, the keyboard fails to function and I am unable to continue further. I am forced to restart the machine by shutting off the power at the power supply. I have restarted the Windows installation process several times with the same result. Also, I deleted the recreated the RAID array and started another fresh installation of Windows. It produces the same result. I have used the Rocketraid drivers on a floppy disk that came with the raid driver and have downloaded updated drivers from their website. What is most perplexing is that these same drivers and Windows XP installation worked successfully two days ago with a previous Windows XP Pro install (prior to a my failed motherboard). Any ideas on what is causing the Windows install to hang?
