Windows Server Backup not truncating the Log files on the Active node in a DAG

We are taking backup from the mailbox Server which holds the Active Database using Windows Server Backup Already added the Registry Dword EnableVssWriter on both the node & Restarted the Microsoft Exchange Information store service & Microsoft Exchange Replication Service Still No luck. Any help would be really appreciated Thank you

Hi, Troubleshoot SCR: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2008/05/28/448929.aspx will help you set it up, see if it starts and then tear it down again. Ali, This is happening with Exchange 2010 RTM. Already verified the replaylagtime & truncationlagtime is set to default Anything else if you can suggest

Hi SMTP25, Per my known, by design, in DAG environment the active database keep 100 MB of cache, please refer to below: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee832793.aspx In my opinion, it maybe the reason. Regards! Gavin

Gavin, At the log folder location i have got more than 3000 log files i am unable to find out any resolution for this. Can Any MSFT guy suggest if thats a bug or something known HasnainExchange Rocks

Hi SMTP 25, It seems an odd issue, I would suggest you open a ticket from MS, you would get more help. Otherwise, I would check the checkpoint log, and cut away the log older than the checkpoint, and then make a test, however, it is recommended that to escalate it. Regards! Gavin
