Windows Media Player installation problem
I'm running windows XP and for quite awhile now I havent been able to use WMP. MOST of the time videos will not work, but sometimes they do. It says something about a codec. So just now I tried to install WMP 11 but to no avail. I have tried all the little trouble shooting guides, but again, to no avail. When the installation abruptly stops it says to go to Web Help.. which I do then at the website it says.. "You've encountered error message 80070002" and nothing much after that. I've tried searching for this error on the microsoft website, but nothing has really helped me. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

I have a similar problem. Running WMP10 on Dell with WinXP SP2 (upgraded from Win ME). Trying to upgrade to WMP11 .Message: "This player can only be installed on WinXP SP2". Well, that is what I have. Any suggestions? Ludwixx

You should probably get a better answer if you try a Windows forum. This is Exchange server General questions
