Windows Live Calendar shows wrong Time Zone for appointments in Published Calendars

I am using Outlook 2010. Using the Publish Online option, I published my calendar and can view it in Windows Live online. I am on the East Coast, and my machine as well as my live calendar are correctly set to Eastern Time. - This has been verified multiple times. The UI timezone settings are correct.

I was invited to a meeting through outlook by a vendor in TX (Central Time) for a meeting that starts at 1:00pm central, 2:00pm Eastern. The meeting shows up correctly in my local outlook calendar. (Reads: 2:00pm, Eastern Time.)

When I visit my Windows Live / Hotmail calendar, the same appointment shows up at the wrong time (Reads: 1:00pm, Eastern Time.)

Please Help!

PS - this is a reoccurring meeting. The same person sent me an invite to a meeting that is not reoccurring and the time in Outlook and on Windows live match. I'm not sure if the issue is driven by reoccurrence, but it at least shows that it is not a time zone setting issue.

This image shows the issue. The top calendar is Windows Live, the bottom calendar is Outlook on my local machine:

Hi,

Check if your Windows Live Hotmail Time Zone is different with that on your computer.

I really don't know how to make this any more clear but all the time zone settings are correct and double checked.

If you re-read the description of my problem, it is clear that the time zone settings cannot be the issue. There are 2 appointments in the jpg I posted, shown in 2 different calendars. In my outlook calendar, you see them both. Then in my live calendar you see them again, but ONLY 1 is shifted by 1 hour. So how can it be a time zone setting issue?

Thanks for nothing except treating me like an idiot. Microsoft strikes again...

Hopefully you have it sorted out by now, but for the sanity of anyone else that has the issue, open your hotmail calendar and go to the top right options, in there you will see time zone, change that.

Sheesh it took me months to figure that out for myself, and I feel your pain not getting answers. Hope this helps anyone else

I have done that and the problem still exists for me.  All times zone set correctly.  But when I share a calendar with someone (whose computer and windows live calendar are set to the correct time zones), I still have a problem with the time being switched. If you have an answer that works, please email me at keenbutcher @ hotmail . com.  Thank you.

I had the same problem on my wife's Windows Live account, and it was driving me crazy - well, driving her crazy, and she was driving me crazy, but... I did the same things, setting the calendar time zone, to no avail.

However, I finally got it fixed the other day. You need to go to your Outlook.com options/More more mail settings/Account details(password, addresses, time zone) and then click on Personal Info. You can then set the timezones for home and work. You may find it gives you the 'we're unable to retieve information for this section at this time...' Try clearing all cookies etc. or try a different PC. As we have multiple accounts in our house, I think that was interfering with the ability to login. But once you can, you should be able to solve the issue!!

I know this advice is the same as the link above, but did the poster do what was recomended? At first I thought, 'no, I did that in the calendar settings, I don't need to do it again' but when I opened it up and changed the settings as described, all appointments were corrected.

The instructions are for Outlook.com(formerly known as Hotmail)

The calendar timezone settings can be accessed in the following method.

Login to your email account - Click on the arrow beside Outlook.com--select Calendar.

Look at the bottom of the page for 'Language(Country)'--click on it, Verify the timezone.

Cheers.

I just ran into this same problem.  The thing that tripped me up is that Outlook.com has multiple time zone settings.  Email time zone can be set to one time zone, and Calendar can be set to a different time zone.  I couldn't figure out why after I changed my email time zone, my calendar items were still incorrect.  It seems strange to me that Microsoft would think one user would have different time zones for email and calendar.
