Windows 7 & Exchange Server 2003 - Outlook 2003 or 2010
Hi We have changed our computers over to Windows 7, new PC's and kept our exchange server. We are running Outlook 2010 on Pc's and Outlook 2003 on some netbooks. Neither can connect to exchange server any more and we are having to use a pop account which is not only frustrating it is limiting our effectiveness. This also means our Blackberrys are not aligned with out outlook folders either (calendar etc) without syncing. We don't have an IT department as we are a small co. And I am at a loss as to what to do. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers

Hi, Apparntly there are some issues with the exchange server since none of the clients can connect to it. Look at the services on the exchange server and make sure that all services configured to automatic are also started. A restart of the exchange server might do the trick. Also look in the applications log on th exchange server to see if there are any clues there. If this doesn't help it might be easier for you to call a consultant to get the exchange server back. Leif

You may also want to run the Exchange Best Practises analyser against the system to see if that will flag anything. It is a free download from Microsoft - there is a link to it from my resources site in my signature below. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

Hi, Are you able to telnet to Exchange server? Telnet to Port 25 to Test SMTP Communication What’s the error message when you attempt to connect to Exchange server via Outlook? Are you able to configure the Outlook profile manually? Are you able to access Exchange server via OWA? Did you make any changes at Exchange server side before you came across the issue?
