WinRM / Kerberos / Virtual Directory Problem -- cannot run exchange
I am many hours along in troubleshooting an Exchange 2010 installation that is completely non-functioning. I believe that the problem is related to a "missing" PowerShell virtual directory. In IIS, my Default Web Site was gone. I recreated it: Name: Default Web Site | Application Pool: DefaultAppPool | Physical path: c:\inetpub\wwwroot When I test it, pass-through authentication passes, but for Authorization I get "cannot verify access to pay (c:\inetpub\wwwroot)." So that could be my problem. The help message says to make sure that the application pool identity has read access to the physical path and that if the server is joined to a domain and the application pool identity is NetWorkService or LocalSystem, <domain>/<computer_name>$ must have read access to the physical path. But I'm having trouble with that. I'm not really sure what to do there. Cany someone help? When I navigate to c:\inetpubs\wwwroot and go to Security, "Users" is listed there with Read&Execute, Listfoldercontents, and read access checked (and grayed out/nonmodifiable). Connect as is set to application user. Also, when I view Virtual Directories in Default Web Site, there's nothin' there. Of course, I don't know for sure if that access issue is my big error, but it sure seems a smart place to focus! Thanks.
