Will IP change cause a problem

Hi i am told by the management to change the ip address of my Exchange Server,I am using Exchange Server 2013

If i change the ip of my Exchange Server will i face any issues,
I believe i should check auto discover record, local ip mapping to the public ip in firewall. Anything else? What about send and receive connector do i need to change or will it be changed automatically?

Yes it will if you do not plan but looks like you know.

Are you changing the public IP or both Public and Private?

If only Public then you will need to make sure the updated IP and Host records for Autodsicover and OWA and MX records should point to the new IP.

Hope that helps

Hi Risingflight,
As suggested by ExchangeITPro you can change IP make sure your DNS is updated with the new IP address and delete the old IP dns entry from your dns server.
I suggest you add as an additional IP and remove the old IP after your DNS updated through out your network.

Change your commonname and autodiscover IP in your internal DNS server.
And ensure it reflects new IP by pinging autodiscover.domain.com and mail.domain.com.

Hi Risingflight,

As mentioned, by MAS-nsc make sure your DNS-records are updated to the new address

also checkup on your receive-connectors (Network adapter bindings might be set to the old address)

don't forget any appliances using the old ip address to submit mails (printer/scanners,...)

on any other servers using the server as internal relay by dns-name you might want to do an ipconfig /flushdns once you've changed the ip and checked the dns records.
