Wierd profile names in Exchange 2007
Hello, I did a transfer from Exchange Server 2000, to Exchange Server 2007 which worked out beautifully after some trouble. And it's running just fine as this is being written. However, when I use the Microsoft Exchange troubleshooting Assistant tool in Exchange, and I try to lookup any user found in the AD something wierd happends. The scenario is following: I have a user called "AM" which I use to logon to domain and connect to Exchange etc. I type in "AM" and click Resolve Recipient, however the name it suggests is "AM2@Domain.com" - Now I suspect this is because I transfered this user from old AD + Exchange to new AD and Exchange, because I tried to create a user on the new AD + Exchange, which is not being called "Name2@domain.com", just "name@domain.com". I just can't figure out how to change this, as I would really like it to give back "AM@domain.com" instead of "AM2@domain.com" without having to recreate the user and transfer mailbox. Anyone familiar with this problem, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,Please try to check if you can find AM2 in GAL/Offline Address Bookfrom OWA/Outlook.Now I suspect this is because I transfered this user from old AD + Exchange to new AD and Exchange, because I tried to create a user on the new AD + Exchange, which is not being called "Name2@domain.com", just "name@domain.com". How did you move mailbox from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2007?Did you create new user in ADUC?Did you create new user to stamp the mailbox?More information to share with you:Transitioning from Exchange 2000/2003 to Exchange Server 2007http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Transitioning-Exchange-2000-2003-Exchange-Server-2007-Part3.htmlRegards,Xiu

Hello, First of all, thanks for replying. I cant find AM2 in GAL/Offline Address book. I used the guide that you linked yourself, to move mailbox by using the 'Move Mailbox Wizard' in Exchange 2007. I used ADUC to create a new user, which is not being called "user2@domain.com". I did not create a new user to move the mailbox, I just used the ones already present in the AD. kind regards, Alex.
