Why is outlook 2010 asking for credentials

Hello everybody,

in my company we have an terminal server and a Exchange 2010 server. On the Terminal Server I installed Office 2010.
the problem is that sometimes Outlook is asking for credentials. When I type in the credentials it doenst works. When I wait (maybe 20 min.) then it works.
Recreating the Outlook profile will works for a few time, but the problem comes back.

2 weeks ago I reinstalled the Terminal Server (not for this problem). But before and after the reinstallation, the message is still coming. i tried a restart of the Exchange server, without success.

Something what I dont understand is that the problem is only by terminal users. Colleagues with a desktop dont have this problem. The message is coming by almost every Terminal User, but not at the same time or moment.

is there anyone who could help me?

Thanks

Hi,

It could be some programs that are interfering with the program, you can perform a clean boot to check if this issue would persists:

Hello Melon,

thanks for your support.

A clean boot of Windows is not an option, because it is an Terminal Server. Also, the error does not turn up every time.

I did everything in your 2nd article, but without success :(

Any other idea?

Hi,

If the prompt appears again, check if there is any entry about it from the Event Logs:

Press Win + R, type "eventvwr" in the Run dialog, press Enter.

You can send the logs to me for analysis, the email address is:

ibsofc@microsoft.com

Please add the url of this thread in the email for easy tracking.
