Why Exchange 2013 log files needs more free space?

hi guys,

I depoly exchange 2013 for our organization with 2 servers and configure DAG for these servers.

also database copy is running in exchange. but the main problem is that exchange log files are more than normall.(if i say they are not normal because i couldnt find any source in the internet about logs sizes.)

could you help me, how to decrease the size of the log files in exchange 2013?

thank you so much :)

more than 140000 log file for 60 users!! but this is for just one server

I think its because of DAG configuration.

I test it before, I mean full backup of exchange server. but it doesnt work for that. the problem is remain :(

I'm assuming that we are talking about the transaction log files here, but can you confirm?

If so, take a look at the article below.  I know it's for Exchange 2010, but the same concept applies here with Exchange 2013.

Which backup tool have you been using?

If using windows server backup, you will also need to backup C: drive not just D: drive (if D drive is drive for log files).

Which guide did you follow to do the backup?

I used windows server backup,

also i try to use full backup to recognize the main reason but it doesnt work.

I use VSS backup to decrease the log sizes but it want helpful.

Is there another way?

Please run this command to check when backup was last run:

Get-MailboxDatabase -Server DB01 -Status | fl name,last*backup

Please use this guide to setup Backup:

http://exchangeserverpro.com/backup-exchange-server-2013-databases-using-windows-server-backup/

And correction, its Database disk and Log disk that needs to be configured backup (not C drive I mentioned earlier).

If you only backup log disk then transaction log wont be purged. So both database disk and log disk has to be backup.
