Which version of Exchange?
I work for a small company that had hosted their own Exchange in the past, but at some point they outsourced it. Now they'd like to host it in house again. There's a mixed bag of server versions here. 1 DC running 2000, another DC running 2003, a 2003 file server and a 2008 file server. I'm trying to determine which version of Exchange we should buy. Ideally this would get installed on the new file server running Server 2008. Buying a new box is most likely not an option. But neither is putting Exchange on the 2003 file server. I looked on MS website for System requirements for Exchange 2007, and the link brings me to sys requirements for 2010 (nice, Microsoft). Can I run Exchange 2007 on Server 2008, if it is not a DC? Thanks.
