Unfiled notes seem to go to the the "Personal (Web)" notebook that gets automatically created on Skydrive.  What about "Quick Notes", do those get synced to Skydrive?  If they do I can't find them, but I'm hoping that MS did not overlook something so huge, so that we end up with some notes that don't sync.

In my OneNote, quick notes are a Section in the Personal (web) notebook.  Try creating a Quick note the click the expander in the upper right to see the full Onenote - you'll be able to see where the quick note is stored.

Thanks Diane!  You've helped me (and no doubt many thousands of others) many times over the years with Outlook questions!

The problem is that:

1. Yes, is appears they are somewhere in the personal notebook.  However it is bizarre because ON seems to place them i second "unfiled" notes section that is NOT the same as the primary "unfiled" notes section, and does not show up at all in the notebook hierarchy/structure on the left.

2. The bigger problem is not where ON is storing them on my local machine, it's that as as far as I can tell it doesn't sync them to anyplace that is accessible on the web or my other devices.  As an example, log into your Personal (web) notebook on Skydrive.  Where are the quicknotes there?  I can't find them!  Ditto on my iPad and phone.

Mine were set up however ON installed itself, and they were going to an "unfiled" section in the personal notebook.  That must cause some conflict because those notes did not show up under the unfiled section.  Anyhow, I changed where they get sent to a notebook I created named quickbooks, and that allowed them to show up on the web and sync to other devices.  Much appreciated!

You can also click File | options and set the location for Quick Notes under the Save & Backup category.

Hi.

I found in google that OneNote doesnt synchronize old "quick notes" (ON 2003, 2007, 2010).

So, I copy entire content from my old quick note section to my "personal notebook" -> quick note.

After, I setup that  location for Quick Notes under the Save & Backup category to "personal notebook" (John Guin's answer).
