The GAL is just the contents of the Active Directory. Becasue there
are many more objects in the AD than just mail-enabled objects the
date/time of the last update is probably not going to help.
The Offline Address Book is updated on a schedule set by you so you
should already be aware of when it's being updated. There are events
in the Application Log when the OAB is updated, too.

When we use Address book in Outlook in cache mode,cacheless mode, does it see OAB in Exchange ?
If so, I can know update time by app log as you say.

If you run Outlook in cached mode you'll use the OAB unless you've
modified the client's registry to use the GAL instead.
The OAB is a set of files downloaded from public folders. Once Outlook
downloads the OAB it doesn't refer to the GAL unless it has to (e.g.
to get a list of members of a distribution group).

No, not if you're connecting directly to NSPI on a Global Catalog
server (which you are if you're not working in cached mode).
