When you delete emails on your smartphone, you delete the message from your exchange email account. Is there a way to turn this feature/bug off?
Is there a setting or workaround for the problem of emails being deleted from an exchange server when they are deleted using a smartphone?

Hi Charlie,
If you setup POP3 accounts to sync emails to the mobile its possible.Adam Bokiniec

Yes, we discovered that POP emails make this possible. We did not want two different email accounts to deal with. Thanks but still hoping to find a better solution.

That's how activesync works.

Well it's not 2 different email accounts, it's 2 different mechanisms for accessing the same e-maill account. You don't want to use POP3 to access the mailbox which won't delete the mails and you don't want to use ActiveSync which treats the mailbox as
the mailbox. Did you not want contacts which are updated on the phone to be reflected on the server or appointments which are made on the phone synchronized to the calendar?
The better solution is to describe to the users how the functionality works. If they don't want to delete a message, they can move or hide the conversation.
