When we try to send an email in outlook along with attachment, outlook not responding and after sometime the mails are in normal.

Dear Support.

We are using outlook 2013 as a POP,IMAP account. The issue in outlook 2103 is  that when we try to send an email along with pdf attachment/any attachment, the outlook not responding for sometime and after that the emails are delivered automatically.

The same issue in receiving emails also when iam receiving an email along with attached file in outlook ,it not responding for that time and after that the outlook starts working fine.

Please let me know why it is happening and also pls.provide your guidance how to fix it.

Thanks in advance

That sounds very much like an issue with your virus scanner. Start with disabling its integration with Outlook.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your reply. If we disable add-in,outlook mails will not get affected?

If we disable the virus scanner, whether outlook will scan the virus emails & attachments.

Hi,

There is a space between "Outlook.exe" and "/safe", please try again.

Hi,

In addition to Robert's suggestion, please also try to start Outlook in Safe Mode:

Press Win + R, type "outlook.exe /safe" in the Run dialog, press Enter.

Outlook will start in Safe Mode with no 3rd-party add-ins. If the problem doesn't exist then, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which one caused the problem.
