When saving as XML from Excel with schema it truncates the size xlsx

We have schema which is mapped to Excel file(xls). As you know there is a limit on number of rows in xls which is 65,536 rows.

When we save the Excel with 65000 rows as xml file Our xml file contains all the rows correctly.

However, Now we have over 80000 rows and we have decided to move on xlsx file.

We have re-mapped our schema to Excel file (xlsx) then When we save it as xml. When I check the xml file I was expecting to see all the rows. But which is not correct. It truncates the number of rows without doing any warning and xml file only contains around 17450 rows out of 80000 rows. The size of the xml file always 12,975 KB.

(Noted that xml file actually is not truncated as I can see the closed tags correctly. Just the number of rows are saved is around 17450 rows.)

I have tested saving in Excel 2013 and Excel 2010 but exactly the same problem.

Is this is a bug with excel?

Thanks,

Hi,

Did you use the import/export function? Ive tested from my side, I could reproduce the issue. I will have a check and get back to you if I get any information. Thank you.

Did you consider using Power Query Add-in for Excel? It has great import capabilities including XML. You need Excel 2010, 2013 or O365 Professional Plus editions or Excel 2010/2013 Standalone.
