When configuring Outlook for receiving mails From Exchange server not working
When I am configuring my Outlook 2003 to receive the Mails from the Exchange server 2007, I am getting error that the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavilable. The exchange server that I am trying to connect to receive mails is kept in a distant machine. The exchange store is running when I am trying to get mails.
When I am using OWAit is possible for me to receive all the mails.
I found that the port 135 in that exchange server machine also not responding when I am trying to check that port using PortQry. Is there any configuration I want to make in order to receive the messages from the remote Exchange server? Can someone help meto solve this issue?

Hi,
Is there a firewall between your workstation and the exchange server?
port 135 is RPC and that port is used forstandard outlook <--> Exchange servercommunication so it must be possible to communicate over this port.

There is no firewall between the Workstation and the exchange server. I do not understand why the port in the destinationexchange server machine is not responding. How can I able to make the port 135 to listening mode. Can you help me?

Hi Jainish,
The RPC Endpoint Mapper process listened on the port 135. Hence, please firstly check whether the RPC service works on the server.
In addition, please let me know what is the means of distant machine. Whether the connection is over Internet or in an internal company network. Please also let me know the detailed response when testing the port 135 situation by using the PortQry.
To work around the issue, I also suggest that you can configure Outlook 2003 and your Exchange server to communicate through a predetermined set of identical communication ports.

Sir,The distant machine I mean the connection is over internet. I have checked the server RPC service it is also working in the exchange server machine. I have executed the PortQry The result I got after making the Query. Starting portqry.exe -n 122.122.122.122 -e 135 -p BOTH ...Querying target system called:122.122.122.122Attempting to resolve IP address to a name...IP address resolved to ABTS-KK-Static-122.122.122.airtelbroadband.inquerying...TCP port 135 (epmap service): FILTEREDUDP port 135 (epmap service): LISTENING or FILTEREDUsing ephemeral source portQuerying Endpoint Mapper Database...Server's response:RPC Endpoint Mapper did not respondUDP port 135 is FILTEREDportqry.exe -n 122.122.122.122 -e 135 -p BOTH exits with return code 0x00000001.Still i am having the same issue.can you help me ?

Hi Jainish,
Firstly, I would like to explain that the Filtered means the target port on the target system is being filtered. Portqry did not receive a response from the target port. Hence, please let me know whether you tested the port 135 by using Portqry on the Exchange Server or through Remote Workstation. If you test the 135 port on the Remove Workstation through Internet, I would like to explain it is normal that the Portqry cannot receive response from port 135.
For more information, you can refer to the following KB:
HOW TO: Use Portqry to Troubleshoot Active Directory Connectivity Issues
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/816103/en-us
In addition, from your description, I understand that the Outlook attempt to access the remote Exchange Server through Internet. Regarding the situation, Jainish, I would like to explain that we need to configure RPC over Http (Outlook Anywhere for Exchange 2007) profile on Outlook to connect to the Exchange Server.
In order to troubleshoot the RPC over Http connection issue, I suggest that you refer to the following KB to user RPCping tool to troubleshoot the connection issue:

In addition, for more information regarding the RPC over Http configuration, please refer to the following site:
