What value does Exchange 2007 use to route mails internally?
I've seen this question asked but not answered definitively. In Exchange 2003/2000, I understand that the legacyExchangeDN was used to route internal mail (i.e. within the same org).Is this the same for Exchange 2007? Or does Exchange 2007 use the primarySMTP address? There is an artcile here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb430743(EXCHG.80).aspx that states: The Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) filter that is used for address resolution is described as follows: For the EX e-mail address type, the LDAP filter is based on the recipient legacyExchangeDN Active Directory attribute or the recipient proxyAddresses Active Directory attribute. The legacyExchangeDN Active Directory attribute takes precedence. For all other e-mail addresses types, the recipient proxyAddresses Active Directory attribute is used as the LDAP filter. But what is an EX address type? Internal Exchange?Confused!Any help appreciated!
