What minimum permissions needed for work with Exchange 2007 ?
Hi All,I have some windows service which must be installed on any computer in the domain and has access to all user mailboxes on Exchange Server 2007 which can be installed on another computer in the domain. I need to create account for that service with minimum permissions needed for work. As I understand correctly it can be just default Exchange user account with delegation rights on another user mailboxes and some rights to querying active directory (needed for service to get user e-mails from AD). So what is the default permissions set for default Exchange user?P.S.Is NETWORK SERVICE account is good and enough for this purpose?

Thanks for reply.Butall information that I found including your link describe permissions for administrating/managing, not for using.I mean that serviceworking with user mailboxes, so I need set onlypermissions which directly linked with user mailboxesand Exchange store, not administrating.

Hi Danil, I suggest you read the following articles(both for 2003): How to assign service account access to all mailboxes in Exchange Server 2003 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;821897 Minimum permissions necessary to access mailbox data http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/01/25/418099.aspx In Exchange 2007, you could use the following command to grant the permission for a user: Get-mailboxdatabase | add-adpermission user XXXXXX accessrights extendedright extendedrights receive as Thanks, Elvis
