What happens if I don't set external URL for ECP?

I have concerns regarding the external access for ECP. I have seen some solutions regarding it, but I have to work on them later. Until then, would it be ok if I do not to set an external URL for ECP?

That wont prevent users from accessing it. That simply is the value passed to autodiscover. ( and it should match the corresponding URL set for OWA)

Was this the solution you were looking at?

Thank you for the fast reply!
