We have Office Pro Plus 2013 and would like to embed videos into our PowerPoint presentations. What web services are supported to embed videos into slides other than YouTube?

Lots of online video web sites have an Embed option. On the video web site, locate the video that you'd like to embed into your presentations, and then locate and copy the Embed code.

Most of these video web sites offer two styles of embed codes, iFrame and object embed code. The plain HTML (object) embed code only support Flash playback, the new iFrame embed code supports both Flash and HTML5 video which offer greater reliability and functionality.

So it depends on your system environment, the installed flash player, your browsers default media player (HTML5 playback behaviour and functionality will be determined by the browser), etc.

I have tried about a dozen popular video sites but always get the same pop-up no matter if I use iFrame or other: PowerPoint can't insert a video from this embed code. Try a different embed code or use a different website.

For example I pasted this code from Vimeo (random video I found)

<iframe src="https://player.vimeo.com/video/100656498?color=ffffff&title=0&byline=0&portrait=0" width="500" height="264" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe>

Then I don't know what you mean about "the installed flash player". Is PowerPoint using my flash player to play the video during presentation? What are the system requirements for that to work?

Does anyone have a embed code from a public website (other that youtube) that works as streaming in PowerPoint presentation?
