Hi,

I have a shared folder in the server where users save Word documents.

Some are  doc and others are docx.

For some reason the "doc" open instantly but the "docx" take more then 30 seconds!

What are the probable causes for this delay?

Do the Word docs include any links to Excel files?

Based on your description, did your .docx files contain any links or macros? First of all I suggest you do a test about your issue.

Please create 2 Word files with the same content but the different format (.doc and .docx), then please check if they spend the same time to open.
