What are the recomendations for a small Exchange 2010 installation
I would like recomendations as to a supported configuration (Memory, Processors) for a small Exchange system. We are moving from a Novell, GroupWise network to a Windows Server 2008, Exchange network. We Have 200 users and are looking for a basic email system that includes OWA. We have an HP DL360, Dual (4 core ) processors, twelve gigs of memory & 2 terabytes available. We are running VMware vSphere 4, that currently has a small Win 2008 file server (AD Domain Controller). Any advice would be appreciated, I would rather do this right while I have the time then pick up the pieces later. Thanks

Your hardware should be sufficient for a single-server Exchange 2010 SP1 solution. It won't have any redundancy, but it's relatively easy to set up and maintain. The only gray area in your discussion is the number of disk spindles in that 2TB you cite. You want to be sure you have enough of them to perform for the number of users you are supporting.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Thanks, Looking through the system requirements, and the different types of servers mentioned I was pretty sure but not certain. By the way there are 8 spindles.Marshall Pinkston Network Administrator Mountain States Group, Inc.

Thanks, I have read through those, and while I was pretty certain I was on solid ground I was not sure on the meaning of all terms.Marshall Pinkston Network Administrator Mountain States Group, Inc.
