What Archive feature will do in E2010
I came to know about this in Tech-ed India 2009, E2010 features session. But I didn't understand the underlying meaning of having archive mailbox when we have PSTs. I asked the same question to presenter there but I didn't get correct answer. Can any one help me in understanding that? Thanks, Sitaram

Archive mailbox is a secondary mailbox attached with your primary one. It will be automatically available in Outlook or OWA when you open mailbox so you don't have to attach PST if you open your mailbox on new or shared machine so you will get kind of mobility to store your emails in archive mailbox for long term as per defined policies. Mails will be moved automatically based on retention policy to Archive mailbox. And more important, admin/compliance officer has nightmare to manage PST and search mails for legal discovery in PSTs, now it is easy with archive mailbox. I saw a good article recently published, you can go through it... What is new with archiving and Exchange 2010? http://blogs.technet.com/ucedsg/archive/2009/05/19/what-is-new-with-archiving-and-exchange-2010.aspx BTW, suggest you to use Exchange 2010 forum for related questions... :) http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchange2010/threads Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA, MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
