What's the proper shutdown procedure ??
What is the recommended procedure for shutting down Exchange 2007??

On a standard install, just shut it down like a normal server. Assuming no CCR/LCR.

with LCR you can just do a normal shutdown.With any form of cluster, dont shutdown the active node, the one running Exchange or the node owning the cluster. Do failover/handover first and then shutdown.

The only thing i would do prior to shutting down LCR is a
Test-ReplicationHealth
