Hi,
OneDrive is a cloud storage service from Microsoft. When you save your files to OneDrive, you can access them from all your favourite devices, including PCs, Macs, tablets and mobile phones.
In Microsoft Office, we can also add the OneDrive service, and save files directly to the OneDrive cloud storage:
When you upload a file to OneDrive from Office, Microsoft first saves that file locally to the Office Document Cache before it starts the upload, which means that you can save changes and immediately continue working even when you are offline or have a bad
network connection. Microsoft Office Upload Center lets you keep track of how uploads are progressing, and whether any files need your attention.
I hope it's clear above.
You may also have downloaded and installed OneDrive for Windows client, and this is the tool you use to keep the files synced between your local computer and the OneDrive cloud, it has nothing to do with the Upload Center.
To upload a new document to OneDrive, you can either Save the document directly to OneDrive from Office, in this process the Upload Center is used; or create a file in local then move it to your OneDrive folder, the OneDrive for Windows client will sync
the file between the local folder and OneDrive storage so the file is also uploaded.
So:
Does the Upload Center help me in keeping it sync? -No, it helps you upload only.
And does OneDrive help me? -If you mean OneDrive for Windows client, yes it helps you sync file changes between local and cloud.
Will the Excel or Power Point show me the recent documents I've edited online or in another computer when I open it if I stop Upload Center? -I'm not sure what it means in detail by "edited online", please note Office will show the recent documents from
both local and OneDrive.
And will the OneDrive keep my changes historic and avoid replacing changes that my classmates made online, like the office does in my Windows Phone? -Once you visit the OneDrive website and tick a document, you can view the Version history, see the image
below:
I hope the information above is helpful to you.

Melon Chen
