Weird message flow for one user
I've got an issue with message flow for one particular user that has me totally stumped. We recently acquired a portion of a company and used Quest Migration Manager to bring over the relevant users and mailboxes to our system. For most users it's working just fine, but I've got one user where it's operating quite oddly. Whenever any email, internal or external, is sent to user@newcompany.com he doesn't receive it at that address but instead it manages to find its way to user@oldcompany.com. I've looked at the email forwarding and email addresses of the user object and nothing is any different than anyone else. What is particularly troublesome though is that the Exchange tracking log shows: SMTP Store Driver: Message submitted from store SMTP: Message Submitted to Advanced Queuing SMTP: Started Message Submission to Advanced Queue SMTP: Message Submitted to Categorizer SMTP: Message Categorized and Queued for Routing SMTP: Message Routed and Queued for Remote Delivery SMTP: Started Outbound Transfer of Message Message transfered to through SMTP Note that the last item doesn't say to where the message was routed, which is kind of odd. The only thing I can find about this user is that he has x500 and x400 addresses referring to the old company address, but so do ALL the migrated accounts and the rest of them are working fine. SMTP: user@newcompany.com smtp: user@newcompany1.com X400: c=US;a= ;p=newcompany;o=Exchange;s=lastname;g=firstname; x400: c=US;a= ;p=oldcompany;o=Exchange;s=lastname;g=firstname; X500: /O=oldcompany/OU=Exchange/cn=Recipients/cn=flastname Any thoughts on how to narrow this down? TIA

Hi, What's the version of your exchange server? Is it exchange server 2003? Please check if the user's address is updated on GC which is used by your exchange server: 1. On GC server, open adsiedit.msc. 2. Right click ADSI Edit and click Connect to. Click Advanced, then click Global Catalog. 3. Expand to "Domain[],DC=domain,DC=com,CN=Users", right click that user and choose properties. 4. Locate the "proxyAddress", make sure that the both SMTP and X400 email address are correct. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
