Weird Issue
We migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 SP1 in May of this year and everything has been running very well. I have recently had a few users report that they are receiving emails or read/not read receipts from a few users that are months old. I don't see anything in the logs and this is not a wide spread issue, it’s just a few users. We are running the free Blackberry Enterprise Server software for some users and I can confirm that the problem email comes from two users who do use Blackberry devices but I can't find any problems with that server as well. I checked out the message tracking log (Below) on the Exchange server and it shows the most recent batch of emails going out but I am unsure how to proceed now and would like any advice. Thanks for any help! Steve

Hi, From the message tracking results, they work well. And I'm not very clear about your issue. Can you explain again? ThanksCognizant

What about Date/Time settings on both, BlackBerry devices and BESX server?

Thanks to you both for getting back to me, I think I may have two issues here. Yesterday’s problem may be due to a user somehow resending a bunch of mail. When I went to his office all of the email listed in the tracking log were still in his outbox although they did send at 9:25 as indicated in the log. I'm not sure how that happened and of course the user said he didn't do a thing. I will blame that one on user error but I do have something else very similar. I have one known user who when he comes into the office everyday he has several read/not read receipts in his inbox for messages or meetings that he sent months ago. I thought it may be due to some type of cleanup on the server because the time/date is usually around 3:30am but can't seem to track it down. Any ideas? Thanks, Steve

Edward, The date/time settings on both the BB and BESX are correct. All servers sync with our NTP server and are idential and the users BB is almost exactly the same. Thanks, Steve

If it was around 3am, then I suspect this was when the maintence may have run, I assume the read notifications he has are from other senders and not his own? There have been some know issue for this. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/nl/exchangesvradmin/thread/7574538b-4159-4df3-8c45-73f1b0115232Sukh
