We deleted the trusted (purchased) Exchange SLL Certificate , How can I restore it
Hi,
the SSL certificate contains a private and a public part. If you deleted your private part then you have to restore this part from backup. Hopefully you have got a backup of this data. If you delete the public part of the certificate you will get it back
from the certification authority. Please contact the Key provider.
If you have got both parts yu are able to merge them using openssl:
openssl pkcs12 -export -in public.pem inkey private.pem -out certificate.p12 -name "My Certificate"
now you are able to import the certifiacte bacl to the certificate store using mmc - snapin certificates machine certificateregards Thomas Paetzold visit my blog on: http://sus42.wordpress.com

Hello Terence,
I went to the link in item 1. I tried to follow the steps to backup the certificate, but the option to backup the certificate a PFX file is grayed out. How do I get that option? Since I can see the certificate in MMC, does that mean the certificate
is not deleted?
What recover software do you recommend?
Thanks,
Nick

Hi
Exchange doesnt offer restore function.
1. If you backup it through MMC, you can restore it. You can read this
link.
2. If you run full backup of your server, you can restore it on another box and get it.
3. If you havent any backup, you have to download some free recover software and recover it.
