Visio Professional 2013 Error Message "Action 1005: Save As"

I have an existing org chart in Visio Professional 2013 that is saved as "Visio Drawing" format.  I want to Save As this file into a new format "Visio 2003-2010 Drawing" and am receiving an error message.

Visio internal error: #-1

Action 1005: Save As

First try closing and reopening the file.  Next try restarting Visio.

Closing the reopening the file as well as restarting Visio does not solve the problem.

Hi,

In regarding of this issue, please do some test to narrow down the issue.

1. Create a new Org Chart and save as Visio 2003-2010 Drawing format to test. If it could be exported well, this issue seems due to the pictures with the existing file. The pictures might not recognized as a Visio object. Please try to remove the pictures with the existing file, and save as again.

If it still could not export, please try the following methods:

  • Install the latest update.
  • Repair Visio.

2. Save the file as PDF to test. If it still get the same error message, please try the method that provided in other thread, I copied here:

I ran into this, and it turned out to be a permissions issue on the t2embed.dll file. Granting users read access to this file cleared up my issue. I made the change on a Windows 7 box using the following method.

     takeown /f c:\Windows\System32\t2embed.dll
     icacls.exe c:\windows\system32\t2embed.dll /grant *S-1-5-11:(GR)

I had this problem, as well. I found a fix, at least on my computer:

Select "Save As"; select PDF; select "Options"; make sure to uncheck the box "ISO 19005-1 compliant (PDF/A)"

I can now save as PDF's again! yea!
