Visio 2013 Dynamic Gluing to Geometry

Greetings,

I was recently updated to Visio 2013 from Visio 2010 at work. I went back to edit some of the drawing I made in Visio and have run into an issue.

I am unable to dynamically glue connectors to shapes like I used to in 2010. These shapes can sometime have 10-20 connectors hitting the shape and I would manually adjust where the connection hit the geometry of the shape.

I have made sure that all the options where enable like they where before in Visio 2010.

I do not want to add connectors for every line that is on the shape, so is there any way to revery the glueing back to the Visio 2010 functionality?

Hi,

As far as I know, Visio 2013 has changed the snap&glue behavior, thus, if we want to connect a connector between two shapes anywhere on the geometry, we might use the line tools as workaround. Please see the below image:

Hope it's helpful.

Why was it changed? I don't remember anything about snap and glue being broken! If half the effort being put into messing things up was put into correcting real problem Visio would be back to being a winner as it was in Visio 2007 (the last non-broken version).

The idea of using lines as an alternative for connectors is disgraceful.
