Visio 2013: Missing database tab in ribbon

Hey there,

i've got Visio 2013 Professional with SP1 from Dreamspark Premium and the database tab in the ribbon is missing. I would like to reverse engineer my MySQL-Database into an Entity-Relationship-Diagram. I already read about checking my settings here: File > Options > Trust Center > Settings for Trust Center > Add-Ins, and all my checkboxes are empty. I've installed Visio with all features. I'm using Visio with Windows 8.1.

Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,
~ ketrwu

Hi ketrwu,

The Reverse Engineering has been removed from Visio 2013. We can find the function in Visual Studio, it has own visual database designer (Entity Framework Designer).

Hi George,

The reverse engineering feature was very useful for creating documentation without the need to have Visual Studio! It's a real shame/unforgiveable that this was dropped!
