Visio 2010 gives error when Reverse Engineering Views in Sql Server 2008- 'There is no text for object viewname'

Hi

I am trying to generate a datamodel from sql server 2008 using visio 2010 Premium edition's Reverse engineering Feature.

After creating the datasource with both SQL Server and Sql Server Native client drivers and specifying authentication mode as windows, there are checkboxes for tables,Stored Procedures and views.I checked them all.when select all tables and views and click on finish on te reverse engineering wizard.I get the following errors for views - 'There is no text for object (followed by ViewName)'

This happens for some views and another error 'Encountered Fatal error ' shows up.when I click on Ok.I can see some of the views in visio's Tables and views window.

Is there something I am doing wrong since this happens only for views.when I choose to reverse engineer only the tables and Stored Procedures there are no errors .

Also, is there an option to see only names of the Views a table is associated with?

Please find the steps I followed here:

1)Opened visio 2010,selected Database Model template and clicked on database Ribbon.

2)Selected Reverse Engineer.

3)On the reverse Engineer wizard, under set up selected Microsoft Sql server driver.

4)clicked on 'New'to  Configure a new datasource.Selected System data source, selected Sql server driver, clicked on next, clicked Finish on next screen.Entered a name for data source and server name, clicked on next.Selected windows authentication .

5)checked all the checkboxes for Tables, views and stored Procedures,Slected all tables and views, clicked Finish.

An message pops up - There is no text for object (followed by viewname)

when i click on Ok.The same error repeats for multiple views.

Then, the error shows up- 'Encountered a Fatal Error during Reverse Engineer of information from the database!'

6)when I click on Ok..

Only some views are showing.

Hi,

Check to see whether the views which encounter the errors are locked and the users are have the permission to reverse them.

Hi

I have data read permissions on the database.I tried opening the views in design mode and generate script for view creation in SSMS and I did not get any errors. So are there any specific roles I need for this?

Another question is - when I reverse engineer Stored procedures/Views will the names of Stored Procedures/Views appear on the datamodel diagram after reverse engineering process?

Can you share any sample screenshot with views and stored procedures reverse engineered along with tables?

Thanks!!
