Visio 2010 Professional x64 incorrectly defaults to US English despite UK being only language installed

I've just installed Visio 2010 Professional x64 on my UK Windows 7 x64 PC.

In Visio, under Visio Options / Language, I have Editing Language = English (U.K.) <default>

However in creating any diagram, Visio defaults to English (U.S.) and the language setting on the status bar is English (U.S.). I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling but still have the issue.

I've previously installed the other Office 2010 apps and they the language and proofing settings correctly defaulting as English-UK.

Has anyone got a way to fix this ?

Thanks

I find exactly the same thing is happening with the 32bit version of this software.  This is a real problem and I can't seem to find a resolution.  Can anyone provide suggestions on how to fix this problem.

Thanks

Try changing the default language in Region and Language in control panel.

I have the same problem ... changing the Region and Language locale does not help. Did anyone else get a fix?

Same here. I found an article on how to change the language properties of the document, but still the status bar bottom left shows a language that is not installed on the PC, configured in regional settings or set in the Office Language Tool.

Any suggestions?

When you start typing in a box, it should return to English (UK). The setting refers to the paper which is not important at all...

This still hasn't been fixed in Visio 2013. :( You are right though in that when in a text box, it changes to the correct language.
