Viewing the queue of a remote Edge Server
Hi, I have the Exchange 2007 management pack installed on my Vista Client. This way I can view the queue's of the Exchange servers without having to use Remote Desktop to the servers all the time. For some reason when I open the Queue Viewer I can only connect to a HUB server. It doesn't seem to be an option to connect to the EDGE server. It literally says "select a HUB transport server". When I try to connect using command line (get-queue -server Edgeserver), it gives me an RPC exception error. My account is a member of Exchange Admins. Does anybody know why I might not be able to connect to the EDGE ? (Could this be by design ?)

When I type "get-queue -server edgeservername" i get this errormessage : Get-Queue : The Queue Viewer operation on computer "Edgservername" has failed with an exception. The error message is : cannot execute RPC at line:1 char:10 At first it was another error, but then I adjusted Forefront on the Edgeservermachine to allow RPC protocol from my client machine. After that I do not see anything that is blocked by forefront.

BUMP the exact error is : The queue viewer operation on computer "edgeserverhere" has failed with an exception : the error message is : cannot execute RPC. Invalidoperation Get-Queue LocalizedException FullyQualifiedErrorId : D26F6862 (this nr changes all the time). Microsoft.Exchange.Management.QueueViewerTasks.GetQueueInfo I'm 100% certain that this is not a firewall issue, as I see on Forefront that all traffic is allowed through my custom rule called "Allow WMI". I'd be really grateful if anyone could assist me in troubleshooting this issue. I'm also able to connect to the Edgeserver from my workstation using wmimgmt.msc with no problem. I can also connect to the HUB servers using Get-Queue. But not the Edge and this just happens to be the most interesting queue to monitor.
