Valus in Legend Don't Match Filter Value

I have a simple dashboard which consists of two charts. I have two filters on the dashboard: Full Abbreviation and Component Description. These are set up as cascading filters. When you choose a certain full abbreviation, the list of available component descriptions is populated. This is working fine...

The issue is when the reports are displayed. The values in the legend are WAY off!! I have no idea why they would be so. I've included a screen shot as an example. I've chosen five components, but yet there are dozens of values being displayed in the legend.

Any insight or suggestions anyone can provide would be appreci

Do you have a dimension added on the reports background? if so remove it and just use the Measure in background.

I actually do have a dimension in the background! I placed it there for it to act as an "invisible" filter for the report. I just wanted to always only choose a jobs that have an "Open" status, but from what I'm surmising is that the background dimension will grab every single member that meets that criteria of "Open". Actually, it was set up so that it only selected those jobs that are of any status except for "Closed".

I tried what you suggested, but I have two measures in my report. Whenever I try to add both to the background PPS automatically places them in the "Series".

Even without the dimension in the background, I'm still getting the issue where the legend and filter selection do not coincide...

So if I may ask, what exactly DOES that background dimension do with regards to report results/output?

I was actually able to solve my problem while still leaving in the background dimension.

I just needed to move the dimension in the series to be below the two measures that make up the series and everything worked fine. Not sure why....but it did!

Thanks for the input, however!!
