VPN related issues.
Hi, We have an on going issue here. Most of my client are having One DC/GC and one Exchange in our Data Center. Apart from that they have a site to site VPN to there offices where they have one or two more DC/GC. Some times they are in the same AD site and some time in different AD site. As we all know that exchange will look for GC first in its own AD site and if not found, will go ahead in the 2nd AD site. The problem that we are facing is , when ever there is any issue with VPN or internet , the replication is down and hence exchange is down. They have windows 2003 or 2008 domain. Is there a way we can force exchange 2003, 2007 and 2010 , even if the replication is down between the DC's, still it is up and running becuase the DC sitting next to it on our data center is up and running (without replication happening between the DC on VPN). I am sure there was a way to do it in exchnage with registry change (cant recall where in the registry). Thanks & Regards, Rajnish SharmaRaj

Can you provide detail about the AD sites. How many sites How the DC and GC How DC & GC is distributed in the AD Site If Exchange is not able to reach the Exchange Site GC then the Exchange Services won't start.
